Adopt-An-Area of the Olentangy
With support from the Columbus Foundation and Keep Columbus Beautiful, the Friends of Lower Olentangy Watershed (FLOW) will partner with local businesses, schools, and other organizations to adopt seven key areas of the Olentangy. Volunteers will conduct regular clean-ups and invasive plant removal in those areas. Scheduled dates for 2009 are July 11, and October 3. To find out more visit, www.olentangywatershed.org. |

Annual Hocking River Clean-up
Annual Hocking River Clean-up was rescheduled for June 25, 2009
LOGAN, OHIO - Friends of the Hocking River (FOHR) announced that the 29th Annual Hocking River Clean-up is scheduled for Saturday June 25th, 2009. Canoes, paddles, PFDs, garbage bags, and gloves will be provided free of charge for volunteers.
Volunteers will meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Hocking Valley Canoe Livery, 32151 Chieftain Drive, Logan. The annual river clean-up is sponsored by Friends of the Hocking River, Hocking River Commission, Hocking Valley Canoe Livery, and the Hocking County Health Department. The mission of the Friends of the Hocking River is “To preserve the environmental integrity, educate the general public, and promote the wise use of the Hocking River and its watershed.” |
